Underneath the worn exterior hides a few tricks...
While the patina was honest and exceptional, a few panels had been stripped and primed. So, we artfully crafted the patina on those panels to match, then the entire vehicle was coated in Ceramic Pro to protect and preserve the finishes.
The wheels are the ICON Old School forged aluminum wheels, modified to fit the original hub caps. Lastly, they were artfully patina weathered to blend in with the design.
At a quick glance, the interior appears neglected and original.
However, once inside, you realize everything has been touched and enhanced. Horween leather in a classic tuck & tumble pattern covers the highly modified (for better ergonomics and enhanced comfort) stock seat frame. Three point modern seat belts added for safety, with a center lap belt.
The dash is designed to keep the original character, but to infuse modern functions such as A/C, audio, tilt column, plus all modern switches and electronics.
The traditionally processed cowhide is soft and pliable to the touch, but exceptionally durable with great surface pull up and character right from the start!
The rare factory optional AM radio has been re-purposed to control the modern Bluetooth dependent audio system. The knob on the left excites the Bluetooth and controls volume, while the knob on the right is for the bass circuit.
We kept the original gauges appearing as found, while reworking the internals with modern and reliable systems. A turn signal light was added between them.
While the original knobs were plastic, and of a few different designs... so we picked our favorite and CNC'ed them in stainless, compliant with our modern switches.
The end result is a simple yet highly functional classic interior design.

For the bed wood, we had to do something special. so we found some 1800's Dairy Farm wood in Pennsylvania. We carefully planed the backside to fit, being careful to leave the original vintage saw marks evident on the top. This dense wood will continue to age beautifully.
