The interior is magical. Great sense of history, tons of interesting details and textures...
The interior was a labor of love. Countless hours spent sourcing, machining, tailoring, dyeing and stitching! Wool Gaberdine headliner, German wool rugs hemmed in leather, leather and wild-caught Alligator interior. All Alligator skins were hand painted, using six colors in five different suspensions, reviving an old French technique rarely seen today. Timeless and fun!
Here you see the raw "crust" Alligator, which we hand dyed using a series of old-world techniques.
The irregular finishes throughout the interior are already at home with the original patina finishes on the outside, while being luxurious and usable as well.
Plenty of room!
Original wood-effect painted dash, with what appears to be an original set of dash switches, gauges and details. In reality, much has been redesigned and elevated, but in keeping with the original design flow. Note the burnished seat side Alligator panels, with notes of rust and wear along the edges.
We were able to keep the original design character, all the way through to the neon style illumination on the gauges. Custom Lucite steering wheel runs the original horn ring, while the wheel is brand new, and features a reduced diameter.
All dash knobs are custom, CNC'ed in steel. The design was inspired by the original AM radio knobs. Note we even machined cusytom mounting nuts.
Modern tilt column improves ergonomics, and safety. Patina painted to blend in.
Factory optional tissue dispenser!
CAD designed lower dash spear was CNC'ed to fit our modern switches, and to integrate A/C vents, in keeping with the original style. 3D printed reinforced polymer vent louvers, adjusted via laser cut stainless actuator.
Even the original AM radio found new use. Push any memory preset button to excite the Bluetooth, then enjoy high quality digital audio by controlling volume with the knob on the left, and bass with the original band tuning knob on the right.
The speaker grills were sand cast in aluminum, from a single vintage sample we had in our collection.
The copper ICON Derelict badge
The potent and reliable LS9 engine scoots this sled with authority!
